TypeMatrix Keyboards in the News Click here to return to the News Index Page (ChipTalk, February 11, 2003 listen to broadcast (MP3))"Ready for another keyboard?" "Ready for another keyboard? This is Dave Ross with Chip Talk. TypeMatrix is an ergonomic keyboard designed to reduce the motions
that cause Repetitive Strain Infury. Unlike those sculpted keyboards, this one looks
like it was flattened by a rolling pin, half an inch thick. The keys are split into two groups, left and right, and each side
has its own shift, backspace, enter and tab keys. That means: No reaching! As for the
caps lock key - it's out of the way so you don't hit it by mistake and type a hundred
capitals before you realize it. And to keep the keyboard compact, the number pad and cursor keys are
superimposed on the right side of the keyboard and controlled by a function key, all of
which means: there's a learning curve, especially for men, who can take almost four
weeks to regain their original typing speed. But the company says that once they do, they
never want to go back. Price: $99. You can take a look at www.typematrix.com or get a link at
